The Wood Cutting Crew provides fire wood for elderly and less fortunate citizens of the county during the cold winter months. Beginning in the fall of 2018, the crew cleared and split over 3 acres of woods behind the detention center. Wood was given by the truck bed full, free of charge, to the citizens who needed it. There was no cost to the tax payers associated with this project and the MCDC Wood Cutting Crew looks forward to providing the community with firewood again in the future.
